Getting an event onto your actual calendar shouldn't require retyping the date and address by hand.

Any guest can download a calendar file for the event and add it directly to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, or whatever they use.

Subscribing to a recurring series

For a recurring event, guests can subscribe to a feed instead, so every occurrence (and any date changes) shows up automatically without re-downloading a file each time.

Reminders

Hosts can schedule reminders that go out by email, and by text message to guests who've explicitly opted in to SMS. Push notifications are also available in the mobile app. Guests control which notification categories they get from their account settings, and can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP.
